The sci-fi epic was released on Friday, meaning it managed to topple the dance-o-rama title with just two days worth of sales.

Modern Warfare 2 saw a 3 percent drop in sales and dropped to third place while the second newcomer for the week, MAG, debuts at number four.

]]> Chris Hinojosa the associate producer of Gran Turismo 5 has let slip that the game will not see the light of day until the summer of 2010.

March is beginning to be filled up with blockbuster titles so this may be a good move. By the time the summer comes around a lot of consumers will be finished  with Mass Effect 2, and Battlefield Bad Company 2, and God Of War 3. This will present the perfect opportunity for Gran Turismo to rack up sales.

The demo will hit PSN next week.
