BioWare’s Mass Effect 2 has overtaken the crown from Just Dance in last week’s UK sales charts. The sci-fi epic was released on Friday, meaning it managed to topple the dance-o-rama title with just two days worth of sales. Modern Warfare 2 has brought in $1 billion since its launch in November, according to Activision’s internal estimates, and, according to CEO Bobby Kotick, “has exceeded our expectations”. As reported last year, the game raked in more than half of that sum, $550 million, in its first five days alone.
