MAG ‘Interdiction’ DLC on June 22

The bundle, which will cost $9.99, includes the titular Interdiction gametype and three brand new maps. The pack also includes a “Heavy Improved” armor set for each faction. Gamers will also be able to unlock a selection of new medals and Trophies.

Ribbons

Jump Start – Capture 2 Command Posts in a round of Interdiction
Mowing the Grass – Get 10 kills with a vehicle turret in one round
Dashed Hopes – Destroy 2 mines with gunfire in one round
Cannonball Rally – Become an MVP (1st, 2nd, or 3rd) in a round of Interdiction

Medals

Roadside Assistance – Capture 10 Interdiction control points over your career
Landscape Architect – Get 50 kills with a vehicle turret over your career
BOD – Destroy 20 mines with gunfire over your career
Designated Driver – Earn 5 Interdiction MVPs over your career

Trophies

King of the Hills (Bronze) – Earn the Roadside Assistance medal while playing Interdiction
Red Ball Express (Silver) – Earn the Designated Driver medal while playing Interdiction
Road Runner (Gold) – Capture 3 Interdiction control points in a single round

MAG’s ‘Fast Attack Pack’ DLC coming next week

Zipper Interactive will be releasing another free pack of content for its multiplayer FPS ‘MAG’. The ”Fast Attack Pack” DLC will hit PSN next Thursday. The Free DLC includes new “Special Edition Sniper Rifles” and “Improved Light Armor” for all three of the game’s factions.

MAG will be getting its first piece of free downloadable content on March 25, Zipper’s senior community manager Jeremy Dunham has announced on PlayStation’s official blog.

The Trooper Gear Pack will include flashbang grenades as well as new machine guns and uniforms.

“In the coming months you can expect to see plenty of other add-ons and goodies that we can’t quite tell you about yet”

Mass Effect 2 debuts at the top of UK charts

BioWare’s Mass Effect 2 has overtaken the crown from Just Dance in last week’s UK sales charts. The sci-fi epic was released on Friday, meaning it managed to topple the dance-o-rama title with just two days worth of sales.

Modern Warfare 2 saw a 3 percent drop in sales and dropped to third place while the second newcomer for the week, MAG, debuts at number four.

MAG open beta kicks off

The open MAG beta is a go. The massive shooter is now available for testing globally.

Just head over to the PlayStation Store and download the 37MB beta application like you would anything else from the service.

Better get in on this sooner rather than later though the open beta will last for a week only and will end this Sunday at 11:59 PM.

Sony invites you to play MAG next week in Las Vegas

The Sony PlayStation Blog invites you to a night of MAG. As long as you’re over 18, you can meet them at the Aria Hotel at CityCenter in Las Vegas next Thursday. You’ll be able to play the final PSN beta for MAG, hang out with the developers of the game.

The event goes from 4:00PM to 7:00PM and you have to RSVP for the event over on the PlayStation Facebook Fan Page in order to get in. Only the first 100 people will be allowed in.

MAG beta open to all on January 4

Exciting news for those of you who were unable to get into the MAG beta via email invitation, Qore subscription, GameStop pre-order, or Europe-only signup. Now Sony has announced a MAG beta for everyone including the people who didn’t get into it already.

The new beta will be available for download on PSN starting January 4. Existing beta members will be able to update their files now to prepare for the upcoming trial. The beta will only last until January 10, so be sure to get your fill of 256-player action.

MAG Given Official Release Date

MAG has now been given an official release date of Jan. 29. MAG went through a whole series of beta-testing from August through the beginning of this month, so some of you out there might’ve actually had a go at it already.
