Assassin’s Creed: Freedom Cry being released as standalone title

Assassins-Creed-IV-Black-Flag10-08-13 (2)The Assassin’s Creed 4 add-on that followed Kenway’s friend, Adewale, during his time in Saint Domingue is coming to PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3 and PC as a as a digital standalone later this month, Ubisoft has announced.

The Playstation version of Assassin’s Creed: Freedom Cry will arrive on February 18, with PC following on the 25th. All versions will cost $15. There was no mention of a possible release for Xbox consoles or the Wii U.

Commenting on why they have decided to release the add-on as a standalone product, VP of sales and marketing at Ubisoft, Tony Key, has said: “We decided to release Assassin’s Creed: Freedom Cry as a stand-alone game for both fans and newcomers to the Assassin’s Creed universe. Assassin’s Creed Freedom Cry delivers key elements of an Assassin’s Creed game, including a new hero, new environments and new weapons.”
