Just a few day after launching the crowd funding campaign for a game that promised to be a mixture of Mad Max and Twisted Metal, developer Pixelbionix has announced the cancellation of the Kickstarter for MotorGun. The projects all-star team included David Jaffe (creator of Twisted Metal series) and Zack Norman (of Interstate ’76 fame).
“Kickstarter is a harsh mistress, ” reads the game’s final update. “Lots of projects are pitched to the community and sometimes they resonate and sometimes they don’t. In this case, what we were pitching wasn’t exactly what you guys wanted.”
As to be expected with canceled Kickstarters–the one’s that aren’t obvious bombs, anyway– PixelBionic plans to relaunch the project as some point.
“In the next few weeks we’ll be reformulating our design and Kickstarter plan and we encourage all of you to head over to our website at www.pixelbionic.com and sign up for the forums. Tell us what you liked and what you didn’t and you can help shape the next phase of this wild adventure.”
