Microsoft Stops Charging Devs for Xbox 360 Patches

fezAccording Eurogamer, several developers are reporting that Microsoft has decided to stop charging devs thousands of dollars to certify post-release. As you may remember several indie devs, most recently Phil Fish of Fez fame, have publicly complained about the policy.

The fee, initially implemented to discourage developers from releasing unfinished projects that would require multiple patches, was apparently dropped earlier in the year.  According to the reports, Microsoft still reserves the right to charge any company deemed to be making excessive certification requests.
