Crytek, makers of the poplar Crysis series of games, opened a new U.S. based today yesterday in Austin, Texas. Comprised of Ex-Vigil employees who were laid off when THQ closed, this studio has about 35 people working in it. This earned thanks from the CEO of THQ who praised Crytek for grabbing the ex-Vigil developers. There is no word yet on what the studio will be making but Crytek did just purchase the Homefront franchise from the THQ auction. This is Crytek’s first American studio as well and it will be exciting to see what will come of it.
