Today, Oculus, the Long Beach based company behind the promising 3D VR headset, has announced that the device will miss its original release window. Originally planed to go out by the end of the year, Oculus Rift developer kits are now scheduled to ship in March. Those who ponied up $300+ for the projects Kickstarter will get their hand on the hardware in mid-April, with those who per-ordered the device having to wait a few more weeks.
The headset has also said to have undergone some changes, not the least of which is a switch from a 5.6-inch LCD to a 1280 x 800 7-inch, that adds 30g to the overall weight.
The developer has yet to announce a release date for the consumer version of the headset.
