The Top 10 Video Games Of All Time (In My Opinion Anyway)

4 ) Mass Effect Series

Mass Effect 620x327 The Top 10 Video Games Of All Time (In My Opinion Anyway) -One of the greatest, original, Science Fiction games on any console! Unfortunately for the PS3 it had to wait for Mass Effect 2 in order to experience the epic but it was worth the wait. Combining a great story, incredible graphics, and an iteration in design that saw improvements in each entry so far; I can only wait for Mass Effect 3 to come out. It is also one of the few games where its forays into other media actually worked well (all of the books are great and the comics/graphic novel serve to bridge games). It just proves that when it comes to action RPGs, Bioware knows its stuff!

3 ) Brutal Legend

brutal.legend 620x348 The Top 10 Video Games Of All Time (In My Opinion Anyway) -Another Tim Schaefer masterpiece created by his studio Double Fine! It has Jack Black, Ozzy Osbourne, Tim Curry, Lisa Halford, and a ton of other incredible rockers and voice actors in this game and a soundtrack that is just as epic! Its only failing is in its RTS segments which are fun but unfortunately they are not as cohesive and enjoyable as the hack’n’slash segments. The story, songs, and action keep me coming back for more though!

2 ) Fallout Series

fallout logo 620x281 The Top 10 Video Games Of All Time (In My Opinion Anyway)-Adventure+RPG+Isometric view….it is either Baldur’s Gate, Icewind Dale, or Fallout! Is it ironic that they are all by the same company and published by Interplay? Nah, just another great game by Black Isle which eventually (for the most part) became Obsidian Entertainment. Now once you hit Fallout 3 you lose that isometric viewpoint and move to a First or Third person perspective. The adventure and RPG elements remain intact and the story is just as incredible as ever!

1 ) X-Com Series (X-Com, X-Com: Terror from the Deep, X-Com: Apocolypse)

xcom enemy unknown e1351590858448 The Top 10 Video Games Of All Time (In My Opinion Anyway) -Hmm…can it be that I have a love for Isometric perspective games? Or perhaps a desire to just destroy everything in sight? Well, maybe not everything but definitely the alien scum trying to take over our planet! Equipping a squad, making all of the decisions for them, and ultimately taking it to the aliens never gets old. Add in environmental destruction that actually increases over time (X-Com: Apocolypse) and randomly generated levels gives you a game that has replayability that almost cannot be matched.

So this is my first Top Ten List of games that are my all-time favourites. Next list will start breaking them down by genre. Let me know what you would like to see first!
