Citing a need to remain consistent with THQ’s new strategy Jason Rubin, THQ’s President after Danny Bilson’s departure, told investors today that all pre-production for Guillermo del Toro’s game “Insane” has been halted.
Originally planned to be a horror trilogy, the game was slated to arrive in stores in 2013 and had been confirmed as in production when Bilson left earlier this year. This came on the heels of the announcement that THQ won’t be pursuing any social “Facebook” games or any casual mobile games.
All of the rights to the game reverted back to del Toro so he does have the option of shopping his game around elsewhere. No other announcements were made today about other titles in production.
