The action adventure game, originally set for a June 26 release, has been pushed back to August. The reason, as with most game delays, is a need for additional time to polish the game. People have speculated that the delay has something to do with the Wii U release or recent layoffs at THQ, however, the publisher has stated otherwise.
“This is great news for the team at Vigil, because it allows additional time for polish and to ensure that all aspects of Darksiders II meet the high-quality bar the team is targeting,” a THQ representative wrote. “In game development, more time is always a good thing for quality and the Vigil team is dedicated to providing the definitive Darksiders experience.”
The exact release dates for the game will be announced in the “days to come.”
