Apparently GLaDOS has crashed and in an attempt to get her back up and running, a website has popped up that encourages users to “help release portal 2 early!” The Steam systems are offline, but a massive amount of gamers playing a “potato sack” full of indie games will speed up the reboot process. These 13 games are 50% off a piece, but if you purchase all of them together you will save 75%. That’s $38.72 for 13 games! It’s the weekend, games are on sale, and you can help the world convince Steam to release Portal 2 a few days earlier.
Two of the 13 games on the listed have already reached the required amount of play time, “1… 2…3… KICK IT!” and “The Wonderful End of the World.”That doesn’t mean you shouldn’t buy them, though. Currently “The Ball” and “Amnesia: The Dark Descent” are in last and could use a bit of love at this time.
The game is slated for an April 21st release date, but with such amazing support from the gaming community, it looks like we are headed toward an early Tuesday April 19th release (as of time of writing). However, things can always change! Some people even speculate that the game is already pushing an early to mid afternoon Monday release. You may have your reason to call in sick Monday.
To the best of my knowledge, this is the only time a developer has struck a deal with the public to release a game earlier and honestly, I can’t think of a better way to do it. Indie developers have been behind the scenes for years and with the amazing “Humble Bundle’s” and Steam backing them, their games are finally getting the play time they deserve.
