The final instalment of EPIC’s blockbuster series Gears of War has finally got a release date, it’s just not the one that was previously announced.
The company has announced that Gears of War 3 will not be released in April, instead it will launch on the 20th of September. This change in date is presumably to take advantage of the holiday season.
Both Microsoft and EPIC have confirmed that the delay is due to a “business decision between partners, and not a quality issue,” Not that EPIC will be wasting any of this extra time, instead using the time to add improve the game.
Executive producer Rod Fergusson has stated that “Gears 3 was on track to be the most polished Gears of War game ever when it released in April, and this additional time allows us to polish it that much more before it hits shelves next fall,”
Anyone who cannot wait until September to play the game can pick up the “Epic Edition” of Bulletstorm which will guarantee you a place in the game’s beta.
While this news is disappointing for any fans anticipating the April release date it is an understandable business decision.
