Fans of EA’s first person Parkour game Mirror’s Edge will be disappointed as development of the games sequel has been halted.
EA have declined DICE’s recent pitch for Mirror’s Edge 2 citing the issues with the games difficulty and lack of multiplayer as reasons for the cancellation.
DICE say that they have moved everyone working on the game to other projects, presumably the upcoming Battlefield 3.
This cancellation really is a shame because despite a few problems present in the original game, problems that could have easily been addressed in a sequel, Mirror’s Edge was a genuinely interesting game and one of the few examples of a mainstream games that do not emphasis combat.
