Duke Nukem: Forever has been in development since 1997 and has become the longest running joke of the gaming community. That’s about to end though, with the recent announcement coming from PAX that the Duke would be returning. Not only was there just an announcement but there was a playable demo as well. Gearbox Software, creators of Borderlands, announced that they have bought the franchise outright and would also be handling all future Duke Development. According to Gearbox CEO Randy Pitchford, not only are they bringing the Duke to the 360, PS3, and PC but they are also currently trying to get a demo out for all of those who were not able to enjoy it at PAX. Look for the Duke’s return in 2011.
